What we do, and what we do not.

These terms cover your use of this site and any introduction we make for you. They are written to be read, not to be survived.

What Alpine Gate is

A curated directory of businesses that accept payment in digital assets, and a desk that sources, checks and introduces. We put two parties in touch and we say what we checked before doing so.

What Alpine Gate is not

• We are not a bank, a payment institution, an exchange or a custodian. We never hold your funds. You pay the merchant or the seller directly.
• We are not a broker or an agent for either side, and we are not party to your transaction.
• We do not give investment, legal, tax or regulatory advice. Nothing on this site is an offer, a recommendation to buy, or a guarantee of any outcome.

What a verification record means

A verification record states what was checked, against which source, at what time, and to which evidence standard. It is a record of a check. It is not an endorsement, a guarantee of a merchant's conduct, a warranty of quality, or a promise that a transaction will complete.

Evidence level is set by evidence and cannot be bought. Paid placement can move a merchant up a page. It does not move a checkmark.

Introductions

An introduction is exactly that. What you agree with the other party, on what terms, and whether you proceed at all, is yours to decide. We recommend you take your own advice before committing to anything material, and we will not be offended by your doing your own diligence on top of ours.

How we are paid

Merchants pay for listing and placement. Some links on this site are paid referrals or commercial partnerships, disclosed where they appear. Where an introduction leads to a transaction we are normally paid a commission by the seller's or provider's side, and you are told before an introduction is made rather than afterwards.

Merchant information

Information about a listed business comes from that business and from the sources named on its record. We check what we say we check. We do not otherwise warrant that a merchant's own claims, prices or availability are accurate or current.

Using this site

Do not submit anything untrue, or anything belonging to someone else. Do not use the forms to send unsolicited commercial messages. We may decline any enquiry or application without giving a reason.

Digital assets carry risk

Payments made in digital assets are typically irreversible. A transaction sent to the wrong address, or to a party who does not deliver, is not something we can recover for you. Satisfy yourself before you send.

Liability

We take care over what we publish and what we check. We are not liable for the acts or omissions of a merchant, a seller, a provider or a payment processor, nor for a decision you take on the strength of an introduction. Nothing here excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.
